KnoKit

Privacy Policy

Effective 3 October 2026 · Last updated 9 October 2026

The short version

  • KnoKit has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or password.
  • Your learning progress, saved questions and settings stay on your device.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use device identifiers to show and measure ads, subject to the consent you give.
  • If you subscribe to Premium, the payment is handled by Apple or Google, and RevenueCat confirms whether your subscription is active.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Who we are

KnoKit (“KnoKit”, “we”, “us”) is a micro-learning app for software developers and people moving into IT. It is published by Cristiana Musca, who is responsible for the processing described in this policy.

This policy covers the KnoKit app for Android and iOS. It does not cover the third-party websites that KnoKit lessons link to.

Information we collect

Information stored only on your device

KnoKit keeps the following in a local database on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else:

Deleting the app, or clearing its data in your phone’s settings, permanently removes this information. Because it never leaves your device, we cannot restore it for you.

Lesson content

Topics, courses, lessons and quiz questions are downloaded from our content server, hosted by Supabase. These requests only fetch content. They contain no information about you or your progress. Like any web server, the hosting provider receives your IP address and basic technical details, such as the time of the request, in order to deliver the content and keep the service secure.

Advertising

The free version of KnoKit shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show, limit and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:

Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Premium subscriptions

If you buy a Premium subscription, the purchase is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

What we don’t collect

KnoKit does not ask for your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location, and it does not create a user account or profile about you.

Your choices about ads and tracking

If you decline personalised ads, you will still see ads, but they will be based on context rather than your activity.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers named above (Supabase, Google for AdMob, RevenueCat, and Apple or Google for purchases), and only so they can provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal data.

Links to other websites

Each KnoKit lesson links to an article on an external site, such as official documentation. When you open one, that site may collect information under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Data retention

Information on your device is kept until you delete the app or clear its data. Other information held by Google, RevenueCat and our hosting provider is kept according to their own retention policies.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, they rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because KnoKit does not create accounts and keeps your progress on your device, we usually hold no personal data that identifies you. For data held by Google or RevenueCat, you can also contact them directly. To make a request, email us using the address below.

Children

KnoKit is intended for adults learning professional IT skills and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal data, please contact us.

Security

Content is downloaded over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your progress is stored in the app’s private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
